Duty on Imported Cement Set 2000 AMD

The draft authored by the RA NA deputies Babken Tunyan and Hovik Aghazaryan proposes to reduce the current state duty of 14.000 AMD on cement imported into Armenia to 9.000 AMD, and remove the duty of 2.000 AMD on clinker – the cement raw material.

According to the co-author of the bill, the Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan, until the second reading, it was planned to study the market, to see how the prices are changing, with the condition to revise the amount of duty if necessary. So, it was decided to further lower the duty, to set the duty on imported cement at 2000 AMD.

Babken Tunyan, presenting the background of making amendments, gave clarifications on the issue.

The law will enter into force the day after its publication.

The deputy Hayk Tsirunyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs .

The Deputy Minister of Economy Rafayel Gevorgyan expressed the positive opinion of the Government.
